Autobiography of ADARSH GUDHKA

U R Visitor No.2181

Introduction:

I was born in the East African capital Nairobi, also the capital of Kenya on 12th of December 1986
also called as Jamhuri Day, in Swahili(the national language of Kenya). I was born to a
Gujarati couple hailing from India. My father Mr. Velji Gudhka is from a small village in
Gujarat called Nava Gaon near Jamnagar and today, is a successful businessman, having his
business in Nairobi for the last 22 years. My mother, Mrs. Chandrika Gudhka, is a product of the
never sleeping Mumbai and is our homemaker. I have an elder brother, Mr. Paras Gudka, also born
in Nairobi, currently working as a Freelance Graphic Designer, Writer and Photographer with his
own website at www.parasg.com.

Currently the Gudhkas are based in Bangalore.

My Childhood:

Recalling my initial years as a kid, I spent 12 years of my life in Kenya. I am very thankful to my
parents and brother for giving me a childhood which every kid dreams of. I went to Oswal Jain
Primary School, a ten minute walk from our house on Bhanderi Road. I had a friend circle of mixed
backgrounds. Some extremely rich and the rest middle class. I always got along well with everyone
(minus girls). I was very shy of speaking to girls in school.

Life at school was easy going. I was called Mr.Bean of our class because I mimicked him in a way no
other person could and this would provide for good entertainment. I was the best chess and cricket
player in the whole grade.

In Kenya, primary school used to be till grade 7 and high school would be from form 1 to form 6.
Generally we used to get chances of playing in the school team only in grade 7. I had left school
in Kenya right after grade 6, so was unlucky on that regard, but otherwise would have made it to
all the sports teams of the school, no doubt. I had represented my school in cross-country and was the
lead runner of my school.

I was also a scout in my junior years, where we were taught how to march like soldiers and live as
independent individuals. We had gone for a scouts camp twice in school. It was called Rowallan
scouts camp, two hours away from Nairobi. It was this place where I learnt lot of things. Lots of
qualities of leadership were exercised. Hiking into the woods, setting up our own tents,
cooking our own mashed potatoes and collecting firewood to heat the vessels. It was an awesome
learning experience. It gave me physical and mental strength.

Initially I was not serious about academics as I was always found playing with the other kids in our
street. Sometimes hide and seek , sometimes pictionary, sometimes football, sometimes table tennis
and most of the times my favorite sport cricket. At one point of time my mom pushed me into math
tuitions in grade 4 and that’s when I started scoring good marks.

Holidays were the times we used to wait for, throughout the year and we would get long holidays in
December of about a month. Every year our family came to Mumbai and we would see a new place in
India. This is where I got my passion of traveling and seeing new places. It teaches you a lot,
about different types of people.

All of these 12 years in Nairobi, would not have been fun, without my brother Paras Gudka and best
friend Mayur Shah. We were a duo that was absolutely complementary. We have had the best
partnerships in cricket and business.

My journey in India:

I came to India on 20th July 1998 and was admitted to boarding school in Panchgani, Maharashtra, a
hill station where Taare Zameen Par was shot. I entered Billimoria High School in the 7th Std. I
was inspired to stay in a boarding school only because of my brother. Initially the atmosphere was
a culture shock. There were people from all over India and UK in my batch and a majority of them
from Mumbai and Surat regions. Things were different in Nairobi. As I was always a people’s
person
, it dint take me much time to gel with others. Soon I made good friends. The teachers were
polite.

The next 4 years went by quick and soon I was done with school. I was the best all rounder of my
school with being a topper in studies and representing school in football, cricket, hockey, table
tennis and chess. I reached state level at football, district levels in table tennis and chess.
Sports taught me lot of things like the attitude of never giving up and team work.

Our school was located in a jungle. I have had the best fun of my life in boarding school because you
have the independence in taking your decisions there. I was a great mimic since childhood and
people used to wait for studies to get over every night and watch me mimic every teacher I could
and trust me, I made everyone laugh like crazy.

My planning skills have come from the time, when I used to plan, when my group of 6 friends would bunk
school at night, which was something everyone feared doing because if we were caught then we would
get rigorous P.T. Throughout school I have atleast bunked 10 times and I was never caught!

Panchgani was a famous spot for film shooting. That’s where I got a peek into what celebrity status
means seeing the actors perform. We had watched the shooting of Aawara Pagal Deewana and Gadar. I
could catch Akshay Kumar, Aftab, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Ashmit
Patel and Preeti Jangiani LIVE. Stunning personalities and I wanted to be as famous some day.

My life at Bangalore:

After school my family shifted to Bangalore. I got admitted to K.L.E ‘s S.Nijalingappa P.U College,
Rajajinagar. Never did I know that my classmate Mr. Sujit Lalwani and I would be the best of
friends and business partners after 6 years. In PUC it was a different story. I used to get
irritated by his non-stop talking without allowing anyone else to speak and sometimes I had to
make all efforts to run away, courtesy, his master PJs. This might be surprising for a few readers
who know Sujit Lalwani today.

PUC was lots of fun. Again, I mimicked all those lecturers who were liked or disliked by us, and I was
perfect at that. We have laughed our hearts out. My best friend Anuj and I, had been to the MCC
fest before board exams and this incident also reinforced business skills in me. We registered our
own college and made profit out of selling passes to lots of K.L.E friends. It was fun. I was the
fun loving guy who played lots of pranks with friends and attended music concerts of Lukcy Ali and
Enrique Iglesias to name a few.

I played a lot of cricket and had no idea that I and this person, who played cricket, would make great
partnerships in the future as it is in Ebiz today. Folks I am talking about Mr. Dhavaal Shah. I
remember once I hit the ball in someone’s compound and seemingly they were considered very un-co-
operative people, so all the rest, ran away and only I was standing there tall, chest upright and
gave them a piece of me. Everything was back to normal immediately.

My life at RVCE:

I cleared my 2nd PU with 95.3% in PCM and along with CET scored a Non-Karnataka rank of 28. I applied
for a management seat and I got it in RVCE the top college of engineering in Bangalore a dream for
many. College was fun again. Made a good friend circle. We just realized that every college almost
has the same quality of staff, but yes, there were senior lecturers, who were amazing.

It was around the time, when 3rd semester was on and Anuj, tells me that there is something where you
get 2000 for selling something to 3 people. I was excited because I really wanted to do something
apart from college. One evening after returning from gym he called me to his place and made me
meet a person whom I had seen before but had never spoken to. I am talking about Shashank
Chohanji, a person whom I have immense respect for. He gave me a presentation about a company
called EBIZ.COM PVT LTD. In 45 minutes it was done. I was inspired with 24 lakhs and communication
skills. Fought with my brother for 4 days, finally spoke to dad and got my DD done. I signed up on
26th September 2005 and since then its been a journey of self discovery. Read on folks – It all
starts now.

My Success Journey with
EBIZ.COM PVT LTD:

I was one among 25 associates of south India at the time of joining. My uplines also were beginners at
that time so we didn’t know what basic training was and I never got one formally. I wasn’t serious
about eBIZ for the first two weeks until one day one of my mentors Mr.Sumit Lalwaniji called me
up and told me about a workshop happening in Chandra Layout. It was 12th October 2005.I was not
sure whether I would attend or no because I had fest that day. Things didn’t turn out good that
day at college so I thought I will give it a shot. To my surprise today, it stands as the “most
inspiring moment of my journey!”. A workshop from the only Ambassador of EBIZ, that time, fastest
Gold Diplomat Mr.Manjul Aroraji, accompanied by Gaurav Agarwalji!
That was a feast for me. I
went home started studying and finished till 1.15 am and slept at 3.00am after making a simple
website of my own. Remember I made my website at the onset itself.

From that day, there’s been no looking back in EBIZ.

My Journey to Silver:

Soon the next day after the workshop I learnt the presentation from Shashank Chohanji and the very
next day that followed, I started my journey in ebiz. It is said by my uplines that your journey
in ebiz only starts the day you start giving presentations yourself. I saw myself giving 40
presentations that month. Results? Guess what!! Zero logins…

Reason: No proper reporting to uplines and hence no sharing of guest responses. Using my own
brain was also one of the reasons for it. Its better that you take you take guidance until you
master something.

It was first week of November and I left for convention at Amritsar with 7 more ebizers. Mr.Harish
K.Sji, Mr Fasil Sagirji, Mr. Aditya Bhogarajuji, Mr.Vishal Deshpandeji, Ms Padmashreeji ,
Mr.Yashwantji and Mr.Vatsaji. I felt proud of my decision of going to amritsar, though I knew my
immediate mentors would not be able to make it to amritsar, (the lalwanis). Its there that I got
the best glimpse of how big ebiz can get. 35000 gathering??!!!!

Came back to Bangalore and shared all the learnings with my uplines and started presentations from
scratch again without pre-judging anyone. Sumitji came for my presentation at 9.30pm. Fantastic
one! Left that place by 1.00am after follow up. Next day the guest got one more guest. This person
logged in before everyone and Vijay Savlaji was my first associate followed by Alpeshji and
Pradeepji. My 1st cheque was done in 2 days, 28th and 29th Nov. Activity continued till the 1st
seminar of Bangalore on 11th December given by Sujit Lalwaniji along with super upline, Gagan
Sharmaji, where I had 7 guests.

The next day, 12th December was my birthday and I rode Gaganji on my pulsar showing him major places
of Bangalore. That was the day he gifted me a silk tie of Van Heusen! Man! I was bowled over! Next
3 days 5 people, logged in, who came as guests for the seminar. Cool eh? Till then I also got a
free login from an unknown upline. I didn’t mind it! I was a cycle achiever.

The next 30 days I saw 23 logins totaling my count to 32 and that’s where my leader Dhavaal Shahji
had signed up, after which I gave my 1st home meeting in Pradeepji’s basement
before leaving for Mumbai. Then Followed Harsh jain - the testimony for tranformation
I gave 10 presentations in Mumbai and Pune region, to my best friends but no one logged in.
My aunt signed up as a family seat. Don’t get disheartened, Read on.

After coming back from Mumbai I made a big mistake. I doubted my uplines! Something which I soon
learnt should not even be the last thing on the mind. Until 25th March, my downline count rose to
43. Second convention was on 25th and 26th March at Amritsar! Spoke to Navneetji face to face and
came back to Bangalore. It took me 3 more weeks to get 7 logins! The last log in took a lot of
time! I had worked hard enough. Finally on 26th April 2006 I turned silver after 7 months of
joining. Talks of karizma were finalized but I met with a serious accident so it got cancelled for
sometime then.

From the time I started getting results and started making friends with uplines and downlines, ebiz
became a lot of fun for me. E.g., the first seminar of Bangalore was so much fun because we had
booked Vaishnavi Party Hall and we took responsibility for the entire event. How did we do it?
Sumitji and all of us had met up on the terrace of Pradeepjis place. We sat on a carpet in a semi
circle with dim light around. The scene was amazing! I still remember, I and Dhavaalji got the
board and stand, Mayurji got water., Kalpeshji got duster and marker Vijayji got profile, Alpeshji
got the printed copy of legals. That’s the only reason why we got 5 logins out of 7 guests!

We went through this journey of organizing seminars every week in Canara Union or Chandragiri
Palace halls in bangalore. That’s where we became presenters. The cycle achiever testimony that we
would give, still rings in my ears! But it was an awesome enjoyment. Our weekly activity also was
so much fun. We used to give presentations after college everyday until dinner. After dinner I
used to call Dhavaalji to be ready and I would go pick him up on my kinetic nova and
simultaneously would have made calls to Mayurji and Kalpeshji to meet at Pradeepji’s place. We
would all meet there and give presentations until late and whatever happened, we would always
discuss some new experience everyday. That was the enjoyment that we used to have as beginners.

My Journey to Gold and onwards:

After my silver my ratio was becoming uneven, thanks to the fire of Dhavaalji and Harshji. My left was
around 200 and right was still 23. All my associates in that organization became inactive. Not a
single associate active. Well the mistakes I had done were, I never built relationships with my
downline and kept pushing those people who weren’t doing much and didn’t focus on people who
wanted to do something. This is where 4C Analysis had to be applied but I didn’t do that. So now I
was at a stage where I had to start off my right leg completely fresh and build a new team from
there onwards.

Not the easiest thing to do! Well my contact list was almost over but then my uplines taught me
prospecting and I said I willl go for it, no matter what happens, because I knew I will achieve
success someday or the other. Continuous prospecting and presenting was my daily schedule along
with taking responsibility for collecting passes and distributing them everywhere in Dhavaalji’s
network. Never did I make my downline feel my absence, even for a day or two. I was a fighter and
I knew it! I still remember every week I would take 5 personal guest passes for myself on Monday
itself. Mind you Monday itself !!!

I would take additional passes for my downline also. Somehow my focus was on and somehow I would get
guests every weekend for the seminar. For six months continuously I fired enough giving more than
60 personal presentations excluding the presentations I took for my downlines. Continuous
prospecting at the canteen and lots of other places helped me do that.

It was this phase that has been the toughest of my journey where I also made a strong decision to go
attend the 8th June anniversary of ebiz at Noida in 2006 where I spent 8300 for a return flight
ticket. I was the only one who went to that seminar from South India along with Navneetji and
Shravanji. I felt really good when I saw I was the only person in a crowd of 60,000 to wear a suit
at the silver level. For my commitment, Navneetji took me to Diplomats and above VIP entry and
guess what? I got a chance to dance with all the celebrities of EBIZ on stage. Mohitji, Manjulji,
Gauravji, Gaganji, Gulshanji, Rahulji, Himanshuji, Varun Kadji and met Dr.Pawan Malhanji
for 2
minutes for the first time. I came back to Bangalore and made all my uplines jealous about the
event and I also got to stay at Gaganji’s flat at Dwarka in Delhi. I was bowled over by the
hospitality of Gaganji because he sent his driver specially to drop me to the airport in his Honda
City. What I learnt from this trip was give your best and you willl get something extra ordinary.

I was working so hard that I didn’t even realize that I went without any cheque for six months in a
row . For me this was pleasure because I knew this story of mine will be talked in many circles in
the times to come and it certainly is an inspiration for many today. For me it was this die-hard
craziness for success that kept me in continuous action! I don’t remember at all as to when I got
demotivated in my journey. Atleast once in your journey of ebiz you will face this situation and
this will actually make you a strong leader.

Finally after the phase of six months without cheques I had invited seven guests for Navneetji’s first
seminar after getting his Skoda in GM Rejoyz. From these seven guests one seemed to be interested.
I followed her through all week, but she wasn’t clear. I was leaving college and I saw her coming
with one more of our classmate and I told myself its now or never and bang! I took an aggressive
follow up of hers and she logs-in on 15th October 2006. Wow! That was my first signup in six
months and from then on once again there was no looking back because I was destined to succeed.

Today that very person is the first lady diamond in South India Ms.Akshata Prabhuji leading a
team of six hundred associates and the first one to achieve this from a small town called hebri
around the udupi region.

At this time I was reconsidering buying a karizma because I always wanted one. “If it is worth a dream
it is not worth a compromise.” 2nd November I rolled out my black karizma along with Rohit
Hulamaniji’s red one. We were spectacular on the road with our bikes!

We went to Udupi in our holidays and started with a team of four. Until here, I had no mentor and this
is the time, when I told Sujitji, that I want to succeed no matter what and I want you to pick me
up and take me there, I am ready to do anything literally! You tell me to jump from a height and I
will jump! This blind followership of mine, let us, have four consecutive seminars in Udupi and we
built a team of thirteen local associates from there. Simultaneously during our 5th sem exams a
very close friend of mine Dipenji of school signed up from AIT Chikmaglur and by the time I
finished my exams his downline was already sixteen. The month was January 2007 and by 7th Feb
Akshataji became fastest silver of my team in 3 months & 3 weeks and due to this I turned Gold.

Till then it was already fourteen months for me in ebiz. Udupi was picking momentum and just then
Chikmaglur people were into their holidays. Once their holidays were done I went to CKM for the
1st seminar.

Scene: I arrived at Planters’ Court the most expensive hotel. The gathering was awesome for a
start forty six guests and twenty associates. Next day I took thirty three follow ups in one
hostel room. That week I saw twenty two log-ins from CKM and the following week I missed highest
earners just by three log-ins. Till date that’s been my highest weekly cheque 22,500.

This continuous traveling set my network in awesome momentum and guess what? 7th April I was Diamond!
Akshataji became the fastest Gold of my team in five and a half months! With that hefty cheque I
gifted my self a shopping spree to Garuda Mall where I spent 23k in just three hours. I bought
only five items and that was the first taste of lifestyle for me. For more details call me.

All this happened quickly because of only one thing, constant guidance from Sujitji and
continuous traveling from my side. I learnt that traveling teaches you more about people and keeps
you firm in your basics. Quick and consistent growth can always be achieved through traveling to
new places. The day you have more than 10 meetings in different places simultaneously, then you
are on highest earners. Choosing one mentor is very important. My partnership with Sujitji started
during those days in Suratkal and those have been the best memories till date. Until you fail
drastically you will never enjoy success is what I learnt here.

From Diamond onwards its been a roller coaster ride. For the first time we got a chance to
witness luxury at its peaks when we went to Kerala and stayed at Leela Kempinski Kovalam. We got a
surprise and a very big one. Manjulji and Gauravji addressed our conference! This was in the month
of June 2007.

I was observing lots of lovelines grow at the pace of a rocket and I wasn’t growing with that pace
and I knew that I had been in ebiz for more time than them and I wanted to be at the top no matter
what happened. I totally ignored the fact that every organization has its own history and I tried
to shift from our vision and changed mentors. That was a big slap on my network. I lost many
potential groups including Belgaum , Chikmaglur, Hyderabad, Kollegal and some more in Bangalore.
(For maximum details about this phase of mine contact me personally after becoming a diamond and
that too only if Sujitji permits).

But all I can say is choose only one mentor in your upline and never compete with others. Compete with
yourself and you will be at the top in the long run. On Jan 8th 2008, I re-oriented my vision and
sat with Sumitji and Sujitji and decided the further action plan as to how I could repair a
totally broken Mercedes E class. He he! This is a personal joke among senior leaders. Those who
want to know become diamonds quickly! J On Jan 19th my silvers and above core team went to
Eagleton resort for a fun day with Lalwani Brothers. That was the worst trip of mine till today
because I and my team were given the worst blasting from Sujitji for not keeping up to standards
and I took complete responsibility for that. From that day theres been no looking back.

Hats off to Sujitji and Sumitji for working day and night to help me empower my team in
alignment with our vision. For me theres been no rest absolutely and day by day I pushed myself to
greater heights because my college was coming to an end and I had to graduate in style because “if
it is worth a dream it is not worth a compromise.”
I was pushing hard for Diplomat also. Well I
always told my friends in college that before I leave college I willl own a Civic, Octavia or
Laura no matter what! Wasn’t very confident on Laura. But still had a hope and gave my best shot
to get it out of the showroom with the savings I had. Time went on and we just took a decision on
Laura and that’s it. Got a test drive done and I loved the power.

Finally on 8th May I booked SKODA LAURA! Trust me after booking the car I still couldn’t believe it. I had done
it under lot of difficulty! But I did it! 15th May the car was out and the celebrations rocked at
Canara Union on 25th. I took it to college and I knew it I would shut lot of mouths. My friends
couldn’t believe it that I got one and it was right in front of them. Had always dreamt of owning
a car before college ended. I had done it!!

Diplomat was in the air at the start of July but I kept shut because I wanted it to shake
everyone. On 19th July we had a workshop by Sujitji at B.V.P. I had turned Diplomat and no one
knew about it. When we unveiled that I turned Diplomat and Akshataji the first lady diamond from
South India the scene was jubilant and electrifying. All of them picked me and threw me in the air
and people, I will tell you, that is what life is all about! I became the first Diplomat of
Sujitji’s organization. We celebrated that next day in Bellary when Sumitji’s seat also became
Diplomat when Kamalji turned diamond.

Acknowledgements
This paragraph is only for acknowledging my mentors support to me. I do not know in what
way I can give back Sumitji and Sujitji what they have given me because I don’t think I willl be
able to match what they have given me in the last three years. The kind of bond we have created
among ourselves is unbreakable and is going to stand a testimony to many, as to what friendship is
all about. Thank you very much for pulling me out of all the ditches that came on the road and
giving me the right direction at the right time. I really cherish those initial days in ebiz where
we would crack jokes late at night at Pradeepjis place. I really cherish Sumitji’s wedding where
we had an awesome time in Rajasthan. I really cherish those Suratkal-Banaglore trips we made where
we would watch FRIENDS and have lays together in the busy. The Delhi trip was the best till date.
Nothing like that! Cheers to our friendship and lets travel to international destinations now.

This paragraph is only for acknowledging my downline. A very very special thanks to THE
actual pillar of the network, a close relative of mine and a best friend Mr.Dhavaal Shah
without whom this would have not been possible. His contribution cannot be matched by anyone in my
network, especially, I still remember one example out of many, where Dhavaalji had worked so hard
to make sure we all put Shashank Chohanji on highest earners. Those intial days where I used to
always be unhappy because of his casual approach J. Long live our friendship! I whole heartedly
acknowledge from the bottom of my heart the contribution of Mr.Harsh Jain who has been the only
person to achieve his targets on time. Together with Dhavaalji, Harshji is called king of
promotion.

The best part was that he had turned Gold before me. My classmate, a very good friend and a very
senior leader of the team Akshataji’s contribution to the team has been immeasurable. Those times
when we had gone to Oberoi cannot be forgotten. I cannot forget the contribution of the senior
trio of Sumit Naharji, Vikas Bohraji and Jitendar Gajaniji who have stuck tightly to the vision of
our team and have turned into known presenters. I also thank Preeti Kareddyji and Basanthiji for
their amazing contributions.

I thank Mr.Vinay and Mr.Gokul N K for giving me amazing hospitality in Chintamani during the
intial camp and being an inspiration to me. Lots of thanks to Mr.Rohit Hulamani for pairing up
with me as ‘lovely brothers’ and being a very close friend of mine and we cannot forget the
Raichur and Delhi trips! Dr.Surendraji has been an inspiration in a big way when it comes to
genuine after sales service. Lastly Mr.Abhay Paliwalji has also been a source of inspiration for
his duplication and followership of Sujitji. That’s where I learnt to what extent one can be a
great follower of somebody else of his own age. Thanks to you all.
